About me!
My name is Sydney Ashlock, and I am from Orlando, Florida. I am currently a junior at Auburn University, pursuing a degree in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing, and I plan to graduate in May 2027. Throughout my academic career, I have completed key courses including Foundations of Public Relations, Case Studies and Ethics, Multimedia Writing for Public Relations, and Style and Design.
Additionally, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Seville, Spain, through Auburn’s Public Relations program, where I gained hands-on experience in international communications and public relations.

During my time at Auburn, I gained valuable experience serving as a Social Media Manager for The Oaks Agency, Auburn’s student-run public relations firm. In this role, I developed monthly content calendars to maintain consistent and strategic posting for our client. Most recently, we worked with a non-profit in Opelika called Created with Purpose to promote their events and raise awareness about their work in the community through social media engagement. I also oversaw all content production, ensuring alignment with the brand’s image and overall feed aesthetic.

I am heavily involved on campus as well. I had the honor of serving on SGA’s Lobby Board, where we are responsible for communicating with state legislators to help advance Auburn’s growth. I am also an Office Assistant for Undergraduate Admissions, where I help facilitate campus tours and assist with daily office operations, such as answering phones from prospective students to enhance the admissions process. This past semester, I was lucky enough to be chosen to serve as an Involvement Ambassador. In this role, I am responsible for helping our student body get involved and will represent our 500+ organizations all over campus. Additionally, I have served as an Assistant Campaign Manager for two SGA Miss Auburn/ Miss Homecoming campaigns and one SGA President campaign.

Within my sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi, I have held leadership roles on the New Member Team and as Director of Lifetime Engagement. As a member of the New Member Team, I facilitated events to help new members acclimate to the chapter and led the planning of the New Member Banquet. In my role as Director of Lifetime Engagement, I built a network connecting alumni and current members to foster meaningful, long-term relationships. I also organized an alumni reunion that welcomed graduates back to engage with active members and reconnect with the chapter. Through these initiatives, members gained access to valuable mentorship and career opportunities.

Professionally, I recently interned with the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) during their CPAC USA 2026 event in Dallas, Texas. As a member of the STAR team, I supported guest relations and contributed to the overall execution and smooth operation of the event. I am excited to continue building my experience with CPAC through an upcoming internship in Washington, D.C. this summer.

I am eager to continue developing my skills in public relations and marketing through hands-on experience and meaningful connections, and I look forward to contributing to organizations that value strategic communication, creativity, and collaboration.
